You will be responsible in this exempt position for providing confidential administrative support in the Corporate Administration Division and in particular to the Mayor and members of Council. Superior interpersonal and customer service skills are imperative in this role as much of the work will involve direct contact with staff and the general public, a variety of external agencies including government organizations, community boards and interested stakeholders. Tact and professional diplomacy are essential. Exceptional organizational skills are also required to coordinate appointments, meetings, track documents and assist with civic functions and public events which are key functions of this role.

This position will appeal to a fast paced, detail-oriented, independent, and well-organized individual who has completed grade 12 and has a minimum of 3 ??? 5 years confidential clerical support experience and community public relations experience, preferably in a municipal environment. Additionally, you are required to have excellent computer/word processing skills (Word and Excel), typing speed of 50 wpm, and a sound knowledge of business English. Other beneficial expertise would include database management, report production, research and web skills. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role. A valid B.C. Class 5 (full-privilege) Drivers License is required.

A competitive salary commensurate with experience and an excellent benefit package is available with this Exempt position. The hours of work will be Monday 8:30 am ??? 3:30 pm; Thursday and Friday 8:30 am ??? 5:00 pm.
