In this role you will facilitate public skating sessions, ensuring the enjoyment and safety of all participants, oversee skate rentals, sharpen skates, program setup and takedown of equipment and complete minor maintenance duties. These are excellent entry-level positions for out-going, enthusiastic and energetic individuals interested in working in a recreational setting and developing leadership and customer service skills. Duties: The successful candidates will have an opportunity to work at several of the City???s recreation facilities (Matsqui Recreation Centre, Abbotsford Recreation Centre, MSA Arena). Shifts will vary and may include shift work, evening and weekend hours. Educational Requirements: We want to hear from you, if you have: - Completed Grade 12 - Standard First Aid with CPR-C (infant/child/adult) Skill Requirements: We want to hear from you, if you have: - Have some experience dealing with the public - Proficient ice skating abilities - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a culturally diverse community setting - Excellent customer service and communication skills - Skate sharpening experience (would be an asset) - Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check clearance Salary: The hourly rate of pay for ranges from $12.17 to $14.32 an hour with an additional 12% in lieu of benefits.
