Job Description: This is technical, building service and maintenance work in the City???s public indoor arenas. The work involves operating refrigeration and ice-making equipment; carrying out janitorial and a variety of building and equipment maintenance duties.
Duties: The successful applicant will have an opportunity to:
- operate a variety of equipment used in ice-making and to maintain the ice surfaces
- deal with customers, groups and organizations using the facilities
- carry out a variety of building and equipment maintenance tasks and repair work (including painting and plumbing, replacing glass, repairing and replacing locks, simple carpentry and welding).
Educational Requirements: We want to hear from you, if you have:
- Completed Grade 12
- Class Five Power Engineer Ticket in Refrigeration
Skill Requirements: We want to hear from you, if you have:
- Two years experience with building maintenance, ice-making equipment and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a culturally diverse community setting
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver???s License
- Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check clearance
Salary: The hourly rate of pay for ranges from $19.37 to $22.79 an hour with an additional 12% in lieu of benefits.
Additional Information: The successful candidates will have an opportunity to work at several of the City???s recreation facilities (Matsqui Recreation Centre, Abbotsford Recreation Centre, MSA Arena). Shifts will vary and may include shift work, evening and weekend hours.
