| Job Description: |
Headquartered in Chilliwack, B.C., the Fraser Valley Regional District is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the full-time time-duration (May 3rd to August 27th, 2010) union position of Student I (Weed Control Technician).
The Student I (Weed Control Technician) will assist in operating an integrated pest management program within the Fraser Valley Regional District???s Noxious Weed Control Program boundaries.
Additional duties include performing various and routine duties related to the Noxious Weed control Program, some of which include manually pulling weeds, identifying specific noxious weed infestations and accurately map their location, and implementing a control program. Assignments and responsibilities are preformed under general supervision of the Manager of Environmental Services and Operations.

| Educational Requirements: |
Candidates who meet the knowledge and skills requirements for the job are welcome to apply for the position. Candidates must be: (i) currently attending a post-secondary educational program, full or part-time; or (ii) have attended full or part-time, in the last academic year and plan to return in the next ensuing semester. |

There will be on-the-job training for specific knowledge and skill requirements. |

| Salary: |
The wage rate for this position will be $15.10 per hour ($13.70 plus 10.2% in lieu of benefits). |

| Additional Information: |
The hours of work are 7.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, with one half hour for lunch. From May 3rd to June 30th the hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; and from July 1st to August 27th, the hours are between 6:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The incumbent must have an unrestricted valid Class 5 Driver???s License to drive the FVRD company vehicle.
