The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for auxiliary Daycamp staff to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture and Parks Division from June 7 to September 5, 2010.
The successful candidates will lead or assist with programs and activities at the Walnut Grove Community Centre, W.C. Blair Recreation Centre, Willoughby Community Centre, Willowbrook Recreation Centre and/or Aldergrove Community Centre. The hours of work for all positions are varied including weekends and holidays and include 12% on top of hourly wage in lieu of benefits. Employment is dependent upon adequate daycamp program registrations.
Recreation Worker III ??? Daycamp Leaders - the successful candidates must have the ability to provide leadership for a variety of recreation programs and activities. Candidates will observe and monitor participants, provide leadership and planning for summer daycamps (children 6-12 years). The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $18.17 - $21.23 per hour.

Recreation Worker II ??? Daycamp Assistant - the successful candidates must have the ability to assist the daycamp leaders for a variety of recreation programs and activities. The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $16.81- $19.66 per hour.
Recreation Worker I ??? Daycamp - the successful candidates must have the ability to add assistance to the daycamp leaders and assistants for a variety of recreation programs and activities. The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $16.17- $18.87 per hour.
All candidates are required to have the following valid certifications: completion of Grade 10 and some experience working with the public, preferably in a recreation environment; current Emergency First Aid - updated every 2 years, current CPR Certification ??? updated every 2 years. A class 4 full-privilege BC driver???s license is preferred.
This position is defined by the Township of Langley as a position of trust (Child Safety) and requires a criminal record check.
