| Job Description: |
This is a professional position requiring experience and expertise to undertake a variety of planning assignments. Responsibilities include reviewing land development applications and enquiries, responding to enquiries from Council and the public, preparing reports to Council and preparing correspondence to the public. Other duties include conducting site inspections, preparing minor text amendments to the Zoning By-law and researching and analyzing specific planning issues.
A degree in Planning or in a related discipline with supplementary courses recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners as fulfilling the requirement for membership. Two years experience in the planning profession after a Master’s Degree or four years experience in the planning profession after a Bachelor’s Degree.
The successful candidate has the ability to communicate effectively, has good public relations skills and can perform research and analysis on a wide range of planning subjects with minimal supervision. Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners is desirable.
