The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Business Application Support Analyst to join our team of professionals in the Corporate Administration Division, Information Technology Department.

Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, you will be responsible in this unionized position for responding to user requests for specific business application assistance; reviewing and/or assisting users in defining problems; resolving software problems or referring major and unresolved problems and malfunctions to vendors or senior technical specialists; identifying problems or shortcomings regarding the effective use of software by users, as required. You will also analyze requests for changes to specific applications and/or requests for new applications; gather and document requirements, determine impact of proposed changes on systems and prepare recommendations regarding implementation of same; conduct process flow analysis of operations as required; and prepare short programs and scripts for data extraction and manipulation.

Your education will include completion of a two year diploma course in computer technology at an institute of technology or community college supplemented by technical courses related to the work, plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role. Considerable knowledge is required of the practices and procedures used in the operation of computer and peripheral equipment and software applications, problem definition and resolution as applicable to the work performed. A valid BC Class 5 (full-privilege) driver???s license is required.

The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $30.59 - $36.11 per hour, plus benefits and the hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
