The City of Surrey’s Community & Leisure Services Division provides exciting opportunities and challenges in an active and energetic environment and is currently looking for enthusiastic leaders for outdoor adventure one day workshops, tours and weekly courses in Geocaching. |

| Duties: |
These opportunities require outgoing and responsible individuals, with strong leadership and teaching skills in an outdoor recreational environment. The position includes guiding or instructing courses at a beginner to intermediate level. Typical classes involve the supervision and instruction of 4 to 12 students of all ages and school classes in an instructional and recreational setting. Preparation includes lesson planning, equipment care and classroom set-up and involves both lectures and demonstrations. You will ensure a safe and fun atmosphere for all of the participants. |

| Skill Requirements: |
These positions would be of interest to those applicants who have experience running teambuilding events and activities similar to summer camp. The successful individuals must have strong organizational skills and must work well with limited supervision and in a team environment. This position also requires a thorough knowledge and ability to coach people of various levels, as well as effective oral and written communication skills and extensive experience in this area. As well, the successful candidates must possess a CPR “C” certificate and Standard First Aid and be able to successfully pass a Criminal Record Check. Wilderness First Aid and a Class 4 Drivers license is an asset. |
