Job Description: We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, self motivated professional with proven skills and experience in customer service and supply delivery, while working in a fast-paced environment to compliment our Purchasing & Supply Services Department. We are seeking a leader committed to continuous improvement, working with internal customers and staff to assist in the transformation in delivery of supply services. This role involves assisting the Manager, Purchasing & Supply Services in directing the operations of the Division.
Duties: Specific responsibilities will include:

• Assists the Manager-Purchasing & Supply Services in directing the operations of the Division and acts for the Senior Purchaser/Contracts Administrator in the latter's absence.
• Provides leadership to build a staff team committed to continuous improvement and maximizing value in providing customer service.
• Organizes and directs storekeeping and inventory operations, controls, and systems.
• Develops and implements new and/or improved methods, work processes , and related systems and procedures to improve supply to user departments to improve operational efficiencies, maximize budget impact, and provide best value.
• Purchases and expedites the delivery of a wide variety of supplies, material, equipment, and services required by the City.
• Establishes supply service solutions that maximize value to the City, through user consultation, implementation of best practices, competitive processes, negotiation and appropriate agreements
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of external and internal contacts.
Educational Requirements: You bring a minimum of three years related experience as a senior purchaser with prior supervisory experience in a unionized environment; you are a registered Certified Professional Purchaser under the Purchasing Management Association of Canada, and hold a P.M.A.C. Certificate of Membership.
Salary: Depends on experience.
