Reporting directly to the Manager, By-Law and Licensing Services, and as an integral part of the management team, your primary responsibilities and focus will be in the areas of administration, supervision and enforcement of by-laws for the City of Surrey. A substantial part of your workload will involve providing advice and direction in relation to the planning, direction and administration of the division as well as the supervision of the By-Law Enforcement personnel. You will play a major part in fostering a team atmosphere and will be accustomed to carrying a substantial workload in a results-oriented environment.

As the Senior By-Law Enforcement Officer you will be responsible for establishing By-Law Enforcement programs and policies, preparation of budgets, benefit analysis and developing base case analysis for new programs. You will respond to public inquiries, highly sensitive complaints and will prepare information and charges to assist the Legal Services Department. You will ensure compliance of by-laws and regulations and conduct research pertinent to new licensing and regulatory services initiatives.

In addition to the related academic training, you have a minimum of 8 ??? 10 years experience in a similar managerial capacity. A background in enforcement or government setting would be an asset. Your education and experience will also be supplemented in the areas of accounting, computing and collection of funds. Excellent communication, public relations and collaboration skills are essential. This position requires the completion of a RCMP Security Clearance.
