| Job Description: |
The District of Hope is currently recruiting for Casuals to assist with our operational needs in various areas of finance, administration, community development, and public works. |
|
| Duties: |
This position will perform a broad range of support as reception, secretarial, clerical, filing and accounting tasks. Areas of finance will require assistance reviewing a variety of forms for accuracy, completeness, propriety of charges and conformance with departmental regulations; posts, maintains, reconciles and balances a variety of records requiring procedural determination, makes moderately complex computation; accounts receivable and payable, property taxes, utilities, and payroll. |

| Educational Requirements: |
Minimum Grade 12
Enrolment in or completion of the 2nd year of a recognized accounting program or related accounting experience.
Two years secretarial experience.
Working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment especially computers. Good knowledge of modern word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Experience working in a networked environment.

| Skill Requirements: |
Working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment especially computers. Good knowledge of modern word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Experience working in a networked environment.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft windows, operating systems and office software products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe.
Good knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation and able to compose routine correspondence and minutes of meetings.
Excellent customer skills and attitudes with the ability to authoritatively process a variety of calls, complaints and inquiries and provide information and assistance to the public on procedural, regulatory and related matters accurately and completely.
Speed and accuracy in data entry and able to type 60 wpm
Be in possession of a valid BC driver???s license.
Be able to operate a switchboard in a calm and efficient manner.
Must be able to work without direct supervision from time to time and therefore must be able to plan and carry out own work schedules and priorities when required.

| Salary: |
The CUPE rate of pay for this position can range between is $23.72 - $26.52 per hour; however, all new employees are subject to a probationary rate in accordance with the Collective Agreement. |
