Environmental Technologist Municipality: City of Surrey This posting closed on July 28, 2010 at 4:30 PM Job ID: 10-TERM-13 (Please quote job ID on resume when applying) Department: Engineering Job Description: The successful candidate will provide intermediate technical support and assistance to Engineering staff related to the completion of the environmental component of engineering projects including field expertise in fisheries-and wildlife related activities. You will assist in the review of environmental applications, stream classifications, fisheries violations and spill responses. As well, prepare, review and implementation of instream capital works and maintenance works approval programs. You would also be required to respond to environmental inquiries from staff, contractors, consultants and the public and research and coordinate various environmental programs within the Engineering Department. Applicants must have completed a university degree or have a recognized diploma in an area of environmental studies with 2-3 years work experience in project inspection, environmental monitoring, public education and instream field experience. A valid B.C. driver???s license is required. This position requires the completion of a Criminal Record Check. This is a term position for approximately one year.
