The City of Surrey???s RCMP Detachment is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, team player to fill a casual opportunity for the position of an Information Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing front counter services in the Surrey RCMP detachment. This will include performing moderately complex and diversified administrative support work involving the provision of information and assistance in various capacities to the public and other police agencies. This position requires an individual possessing initiative and utilizing independent judgment.
The incumbent will take enquiries; explain rules, regulations and procedures within prescribed limits while dealing tactfully and effectively with the public and multi-cultural clients. Duties will include but not limited to receiving and processing applications for police certificates and permits, including special occasion liquor, taxi, private investigations, and issuing certificates. Processing requests for criminal record searches for security clearance, employment and immigration purposes. Will perform other job related duties as assigned.
The successful applicant will have completed Grade 12 with 3 years related experience including exposure to and knowledge of Provincial and Federal Statutes, Municipal By-Laws and police policies and procedures.
This position requires you to have a Reliability Security Clearance with the Surrey RCMP. A valid BC driver???s license with a safe driving history and an accurate typing speed of 45wpm are required.
