These full-time positions involve the responsibility for the day to day operation of the City???s water systems including the repair, maintenance and construction of waterworks and sewers infrastructure. Considerable knowledge of waterworks distribution systems, including mechanical and control systems required to operate and maintain water pumping and storage facilities is a must.

As the successful candidate you must have:
??? Completion of Grade 12
??? Completion of post-secondary courses in waterworks at a recognized college trades school, Environmental Operators or similar organization
??? A minimum of 1 year of experience in waterworks
??? Valid Driver???s License (Class 3 with air) and Level 1 of the BC Environmental Operator???s Certification Program.

The hourly rate of pay for these union positions is from $20.52 to $24.14 per hour (2009 rates). In addition, the City of Abbotsford offers a comprehensive benefits package.
