Planner (Community Planning) We are currently offering an exciting opportunity in our Economic Development & Planning Services Department, for a dynamic, self motivated professional with proven skills, energy and creativity of a Planner (Community Planning). This is a professional level position requiring application of urban and community planning knowledge to the development and growth of our City. As an integral team player, you will be part of achieving the vision of Abbotsford as the most sustainable, livable, and prosperous City in British Columbia. In this exciting role you will: ??? Research, analyze and prepare comprehensive reports and policies on a wide range of planning and development issues to address community sustainability, stewardship and planning matters. ??? Provide input and advice on development proposals and municipal operations to Council, management, staff and external stake holders, clearly articulating sound planning, development and urban design principles. ??? Deliver public presentations, participate in multi-disciplinary committees and respond to public enquiries. Your educational qualifications include a University degree in Community and Regional Planning with experience in community land use planning and specialized knowledge of municipal operations together with a minimum of three years of diversified and progressively related experience in long range planning, community development and research. As the successful candidate, you must be eligible for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners.
