The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Senior Clerk - Development Planning to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division.

Reporting to the Manager, Development Planning this position will work with a team of technical staff in the Development Services section to assist in the coordination of Development Application processing and monitor the progress of all such applications to ensure that all legal, technical and financial requirements are met prior to final approval.

This position will appeal to an energetic, detail-oriented and well-organized individual who has completed grade 12, supplemented with legal assistant/secretarial courses and considerable experience. Knowledge of Provincial legislation such as the Local Government Act and Land Title Act with experience in a Municipal environment is an asset.

Additionally you are required to have excellent computer/word processing skills including excel, typing speed of 50 wpm and a sound knowledge of business English. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this role. You must possess analytical and problem solving skills with an aptitude for details including the ability to prepare and process a variety of legal and other documents related to subdivision, rezoning and related development applications as well as identify errors and omissions in submitted materials. Superior customer service is vital when you are dealing with staff, applicants, consultants, legal professionals and external agencies.

The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $24.96 - $29.35 per hour, plus benefits and the hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30 am ??? 4:30 pm.
