Job Description: The City of White Rock is a unique, ocean-side community of 20,000 citizens known for its sunny weather, expansive beach, historic pier, delightful restaurants, and sense of community. The City is located half an hour south of Vancouver on the shore of Semiahmoo Bay.
Duties: The R.C.M.P. Detachment seeks a customer-oriented individual to join their department in the Victim Services Coordinator role. This position oversees the Detachment???s victim services program, provides support services to victims, youth and families, liaises with R.C.M.P. members and a variety of government and community services in order to coordinate efforts, prepares and maintains a variety of records, reports and correspondence, and assists in the preparation and monitoring of an operational budget. The Victim Services Coordinator supervises the work of one or more part-time staff members and determines on-going training for the section and its volunteers as needed.
Educational Requirements: Necessary skills and qualifications include:
???Completion of Grade 12 with post secondary education in the field of social sciences and courses in crisis intervention, conflict resolution and victim support, or an equivalent combination of training and experience;
???Significant knowledge of crisis intervention practices and techniques, services offered by community agencies and organizations, and of court and police procedures related to the work;
???Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
???Previous supervisory experience;
???Ability to secure and maintain a R.C.M.P. enhanced reliability security clearance
???Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC driver???s license or equivalent with an acceptable driving record;
Salary: The hourly wage range of this position is from $28.18 -$33.20 (2010 rates) with comprehensive benefits offered.
