Theatre Production Coordinator (CSC 2) Municipality: City of Surrey This posting closed on August 30, 2010 at 4:30 PM Job ID: 10-UN-56 (Please quote job ID on resume when applying) Department: Parks, Recreation & Culture Job Description: This position involves an advanced level of professional work related to the complex operation and administration of cultural facilities, theatre systems and equipment and the co-ordination and implementation of a variety of theatre programs, performing arts services and special events offered through the Surrey Arts Centre and other community venues. Work at this level is characterized by supervisory and financial responsibility within a multi-functional facility and within the context of high public profile. Through your leadership and initiative you will motivate staff to maintain a positive, respectful workplace that emphasizes teamwork. The work is significantly challenging given the wide variety of administrative, customer service and operational responsibilities. Your highly developed organizational skills are supplemented by strong communication skills related to writing reports, applying for grants and documenting projects for both internal and external audiences. You must demonstrate a thorough understanding of community cultural development and the ability to work with a diverse theatre clientele to help them achieve successful programs. The successful candidate must be a university or college level graduate in a related discipline and 3 ??? 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the delivery of professional cultural programs including experience in facility management. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must have technical experience and expertise applicable to this specific role.
