| Job Description: |
You???ll turn your attention to investigating, analyzing and specifying business information systems to meet our clients??? business needs. You will consider the business implications of applying information technology to clients??? business environment, formulate and define the scope and objectives of business systems, and develop information systems requirements.
You will configure and integrate packaged applications to operate in the City???s environment, model data and processes and perform analysis, design, development, implementation, documentation and maintenance on custom software applications. You may function as project team leader and be accountable for a sub-project. Reporting to the Application Manager you will work with City business unit staff, Information Technology staff and external consultants.
Your understanding of organizational business systems, industry requirements and technology will ensure that you keep Surrey at the forefront of emerging trends and help achieve the business values and objectives. Your ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and obtain acceptance of ideas and cooperation on proposed initiatives and actions will be definite assets. You possess good interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills; are able to work independently and efficiently with a demonstrated service orientation; and perform under pressure and meet deadlines. You have a demonstrated ability to function as team lead when required.
The successful candidate will have broad technical knowledge of application system infrastructure, enterprise application configuration and integration, a related degree/diploma from a recognized institution plus 4 to 6 years directly related experience, or technical courses in the field plus 8 years of directly related experience. The ACS (Amanda Configuration Specialist) certification is considered an asset as is experience with municipal and workflow applications, especially as related to Land Development. Prior work experience must include at least two years at the Applications Analyst 2 level or equivalent.
