Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety, you will be accountable for supporting the ongoing development, implementation, coordination of the City???s Occupational Health and Safety Programs. The successful candidate will focus on areas such as accident/incident investigation, workplace safety compliance, occupational hygiene, OHS policies/protocols, risk assessments and developing safe work procedures for city employees. The Occupational Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for working both in the office and in field conditions. The successful candidate will have a College Diploma specializing in Occupational Health and Safety complemented with several years of directly related experience. Knowledge in Workers??? Compensation Act, WorkSafeBC, and claims management is essential. Experience in a public sector environment and a unionized setting is considered an asset. CHRP designation is considered an asset.
