The Park was established under the 1932 Private Members Bill now referred to as the Cultus Lake Park Act and consists of 640 acres of one of B.C.???s most popular outdoor recreation destinations in the Lower Mainland. The posting brings with it numerous challenges associated with a comparable smaller sized local government of 4,000 citizens. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Services, you will have the responsibility to perform senior level accounting functions related to financial planning and reporting, and internal control. Related duties include: assisting in budgeting and five year financial plan, preparation of financial reports, reconciliations and cash flow, property lease calculation and billing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, pension, benefits administrator. The range of activity will require professionalism and diplomacy skills and the ability to work with staff and elected representatives from Local, Regional and First Nations Governments, as well as the development of cooperative service initiatives. The successful candidate will encourage sound policies and practices in finance, economics and law. The successful candidate is to have completed the second year accounting level or an equivalent amount of education and experience, a minimal five years experience in municipal financial accounting or similar environment and general understand and knowledge of Local Government Act, Community Charter, and specific financial requirements. Remuneration is between $18.00 to $25.00 p/h commensurate with experience.
