Learn-to-skate Instructors (Temporary contracts) Municipality: City of Abbotsford This posting closed on September 9, 2010 at 4:30 PM Department: Parks, Recreation and Culture Job Description: We are looking for creative and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in skating, and passion for teaching children. A background in skating instruction or coaching is preferred but applicants with great potential can enroll in a Recreational Skating Instructor Course. You will be responsible for planning and teaching skating lessons, as well as completing skating evaluations, providing equipment and outstanding customer service to participants. The successful candidates will have an opportunity to work at several of the City???s recreation facilities (Matsqui Recreation Centre, Abbotsford Recreation Centre, MSA Arena). We want to hear from you, if you have: ??? Completion of CanSkate Instructor course or coaching certificate would be an asset ??? Previous skating instruction or coaching experience ??? Outstanding customer service skills in dealing with varied age groups ??? Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a culturally diverse community setting ??? Demonstrated effective communication skills ??? Standard First Aid and CPR C certification ??? Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check clearance The hourly rate of pay for these contract positions is $16.00 per hour.
