We currently have the above mentioned full time, unionized civilian position available. Duties: The Crime Analyst provides statistical, tactical and strategic crime analysis and intelligence information to the Management Team and other branches of the Department. Through the interpretation and analysis of crime data and intelligence, the Crime Analyst prepares forecasts and effectively communicates conclusions and recommendations which support investigative activities as well as assist in directing resources and establishing priorities. Educational Requirements: The successful candidate has a degree in a Forensic Technology Program specializing in Crime and Intelligence Analysis, or a university degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Criminal Justice Administration, or a relevant combination of training and experience (minimum 2 yrs) in related analysis or research. Other requirements include the following: ??? Considerable knowledge of research, statistical and analytical principles, practices, procedures, methods and techniques. ??? Demonstrated ability in using databases, crime analysis and mapping software (such as i2 and Esri), and open source techniques. ??? Demonstrated ability in using Microsoft Office with a focus on MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional. ??? Work experience in a police environment and with PRIME is considered an asset. Additional Information: The successful candidate must obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance, which includes a polygraph test.
