Functional Application Analyst 2 (Up to 2 Year Term) Municipality: City of Surrey This posting closed on November 17, 2011 at 4:30 PM Department: Finance & Technology Job Description: Under general supervision, you will provide functional application support for the implementation of the Agresso Business World Application system and ensure it meets the business needs of all end users. You will be the primary expert for all systems functionality and work in a complex multi-site organization providing leadership, guidance, support and training in relation to the system. Considerable judgment, problem solving ability, teamwork and expertise is required to develop solutions to operational issues arising out of the system that could have a serious impact to the City. In addition, you will consider the business implications of applying information technology within the business area and through research and fact finding, combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements, participate in implementing the scope and objectives of business systems. Duties: As the Functional Application Analyst 2, you will be the primary source of contact, responding to, investigating, prioritizing and resolving integrated administrative, technical, or operating problems within the functional end user base using standard methodologies and procedures, interpreting or adapting as situations and problems arise. You will also act as a liaison with IT for all system issues raised by the functional users that require IT involvement, and manage the resolution of all issues, as well as provide ongoing support and training to all end users, including management staff in the use of analytical tools through training programs, one on one consultations, systems or procedural advice etc. Educational Requirements: As the successful candidate, you will have a solid understanding of financial business processes and complement that with a technical aptitude. The successful candidate will have a professional Accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA), plus 3 years of directly related and relevant experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
