This is an on-call ECE assistant position that assists with City wide coverage for licensed and non-licensed preschool programs by acting as an instructional and environmental support within the classroom. This position would also assist with training and curriculum development and observations to ensure quality assessment across the division. You will have a strong base in child development and early education theories and practices as well as knowledge of emergent curriculum and goals of developmental stages. You will also have opportunities to participate in planning and delivering of peer based training.
Your duties will encompass teaching, supporting, facilitating, planning, evaluation and delivery of preschool programs in multiple locations and responding to coverage needs throughout the City. You will work collaboratively with coworkers and parents to address and meet the full range of children???s diverse developmental needs and aspirations.
You are able to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with peers, supervisors and families. You have the ability to work independently and are experienced in balancing needs within a diverse environment.
As an Early Childhood Assistant, you will hold an Early Childhood Education certificate with valid license to assist, current First Aid and CPR C. You must be familiar with the Reggio Emilia approach on preschool education. You must be able to demonstrate a continued search of knowledge in the ECE field and continual study of emergent and best practices. You have related work experience in a majority of the above areas and you are able to demonstrate this through your accomplishments and resume.
