The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for auxiliary Day Camp staff to join our team of professionals in the Recreation, Culture, and Parks Division from approx. June 18, 2012 to approx. September 3, 2012. The successful candidates will lead or assist with day camps at the Walnut Grove Community Centre, W.C. Blair Recreation Centre, Willoughby Community Centre, Willowbrook Recreation Centre and/or Aldergrove Kinsmen Community Centre. The hours of work for all positions are varied including weekends and holidays and include 12% on top of hourly wage in lieu of benefits. Employment is dependent upon adequate day camp program registrations. Recreation Worker III ??? Day Camp Leaders - the successful candidates must have the ability to provide leadership for a variety of recreation programs and activities. Candidates will observe and monitor participants, provide leadership, and planning for summer day camps (children 6-12 years). The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $18.90 - $22.08 per hour (2011 rates). Applicants not successful for the Recreation Worker III - Day Camp Leader may be considered for the following: Recreation Worker II ??? Day Camp Assistant - the successful candidates must have the ability to assist the day camp leaders for a variety of recreation programs and activities. The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $17.48- $20.45 per hour (2011 rates). Recreation Worker I ??? Day Camp - the successful candidates must have the ability to add assistance to the day camp leaders and assistants for a variety of recreation programs and activities. The rate of pay for this CUPE position is $16.82- $19.62 per hour (2011 rates). All candidates are required to have the following valid certifications: completion of Grade 10 and some experience working with the public, preferably in a recreation environment; current Emergency First Aid, current CPR Certification; and must be available to work from approx. June 18, 2012 to approx. September 3, 2012. A CPR C Certification and class 4 full-privilege BC driver???s license are preferred.
