The JAMES Pollution Control Centre, which is the third largest secondary treatment plant in BC, has an opportunity for an independent, detail oriented operator, responsible for technical and skilled work. You will be responsible for: ??? operating and monitoring all equipment throughout the Plant ??? maintaining accurate operational and maintenance data in station and equipment log books ??? entering data to the computer system ??? performing a variety of wastewater and sludge sampling operations ??? interpreting laboratory and other monitoring data for efficient plant operation ??? performing preventative maintenance tasks such as lubricating and cleaning machinery and equipment and testing alarms You will require thorough knowledge of: ??? secondary wastewater treatment, chlorination and dechlorination principles and practices and wastewater analysis procedures and interpretation of laboratory data and test results ??? the operation and maintenance of chlorination and dechlorination equipment ??? chemical properties of chlorine and sulphur dioxide handling principles and practices You will have: ??? a minimum of 3 years experience ??? EOCP Class II - Wastewater Treatment Class II. ??? EOCP Chlorine Handler Certificate ??? First Aid Level I & ability to attain Level 2 within six (6) months as required ???
