| Job Description: |
The Chargehand Electrician performs varied trades work of a supervisory nature and assists senior supervisory staff in the direction, supervision and planning of the crews in building maintenance and construction projects of City facilities and buildings.
Duties would include performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting functions, assist in preparing work schedules and determine materials and equipment required. Assist crew members in installing, repairing, maintaining electrical and heat systems ensuring work performed by the trades and others is completed efficiently, on schedule and in a safe manner. You would also provide estimates of costs, time, materials and equipment needed for electrical projects.
Thorough knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment are required and excellent communications and team skills are a must.
The successful candidate must have completion of Grade 12 and a current trades certification (TQ) and considerable experience in supervision, building maintenance and construction as a qualified trades electrician. You must have a valid B.C. Driver’s license with safe driving record.
This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain the relevant level of RCMP security clearance.
