Job Description: We are currently offering an exciting opportunity in our Corporate Services Department, Information Technology Division, for a dynamic, self motivated professional with proven skills, energy and innovation as a SAP Project Coordinator. Acting under the general direction of the Manager of IT Application Services, the SAP Project Coordinator is part of a team providing IT services to the City by ensuring functions are working as designed, by resolving any operational issues, by keeping systems updated with regulatory changes and by implementing new functionality as required. The IT Project Coordinator also provides project management, change management, application consulting and business process re-engineering services related to technology to all City departments. This position will focus on Human Resources and Payroll in an SAP environment. Specific responsibilities include:

Service Delivery: Responsible for supporting the provision of system services to ensure that the City’s major computer systems are operational for management and users across all City departments; Responsible for resolving any issues with system functionality and/or availability in accordance with agreed service levels.

Business Analysis: Carries our detailed analysis of systems functionality and business processes in areas requiring change or to resolve system issues; Work with business users to establish business processes, produce training material and deliver end user training.

Project Management: Plan activities and coordinate internal and external resources to deliver business and systems change to meet project scope, timelines and budgets and ensure new processes are transitioned into operational support.

Business Process Re-engineering: Highlight opportunities to use existing or new technology that benefits the City’s internal and/or external business services as well as systems services.

As the successful candidate you have a bachelors degree from a recognized post secondary institution, 3 to 5 years related experience including a minimum 2 years of ERP technical experience and 1 year of IT project and/or operational management experience. You must also have excellent oral and written communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with SAP functional experience (HR-Payroll and/or Finance), experience supporting Human Resources and Payroll, and experience working in a unionized, municipal environment.
