You must be a graduate of an Institute / college of Technology in a two (2) year Engineering Technologists Program. You should also be eligible for registration with the Association of Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC). Duties: Reporting to the Director of Public Works, you will perform a variety of technical work involving all aspects of construction and maintenance of the City's roads, drainage, water and sewer systems. You will be able to prepare and administer contracts, estimates, specifications and annual budgets and provide site supervision of construction and maintenance contracts. You will also be responsible for the administration and expansion of the City’s Waterworks Cross Connection Control Program and will ensure that the City remains in compliance with the requirements of the Provincial Drinking Water Protection Act. Technical work may include conducting investigations, surveys, inspections, analysis of data, designs, specifications, drawings, cost estimates and reports. You will be a team player who can work closely and effectively with Utility and Public Works managers, Foremen and Utilities Maintenance crews. You will be work 35 hours per week in both office and field environments. Educational Requirements: • Must be a graduate of an Institute of Technology in a two (2) year engineering Technologists Program Skill Requirements: • Possession of a valid class 5 B.C.
