Job Description: Reporting to the Development Services Manager within the Engineering Department, this position is responsible for the oversight of all land development project processing. The Development Project Engineer ensures a consistent application of City Standards, Engineering Policies and Practices, applicable Bylaws and good Engineering practice and is involved in the development and clarification of policies to ensure consistency in application. Other key responsibilities include the review of servicing design drawings, servicing agreements, restrictive covenants, easement documents, latecomer agreements, development cost charge front-ender agreements and development works agreements.

This position may also be responsible for the management of a team of Project Supervisors and Operations Clerks within the Development Services Section of the Land Development Division. Involvement with neighborhood concept plans, coordination with other divisions and departments, liaison with external agencies, and customer and resident complaint resolution will also be required.
Educational Requirements: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and is registered as a Professional Engineer with the Province of British Columbia or has equivalent technical experience. A minimum 10 years of progressively responsible and related work experience is required. You are a results-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills and are focused on delivering excellent customer service. Clear communication skills (written and verbal) are required. While this role is ideal for individual contributors seeking to take the first step into a leadership role, experience leading teams is an asset.
