The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Support Clerk, to join our team of professionals in the Business Support Department, Engineering Division.
Reporting to the Clerk IV Supervisor, in this unionized position you will primarily be responsible for front-line customer service, processing applications & permits, processing service requests, coordinating permit logistics for special events, records keeping, and other associated responsibilities, You will be responsible to provide superior customer service to both internal & external customers, respond to inquiries/requests by telephone and in person, as well as explain and interpret rules, regulations, and general policies. Your education will include completion of the 12th school grade, preferably including or supplemented by commercial and accounting courses. Considerable related experience preferably in a municipal department or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. Sound knowledge of accounting practices, billing, records keeping and arithmetic are preferred. Further, sound knowledge of business English, spelling and good vocabulary as well as the ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and subordinates in processing a variety of enquiries, complaints and related matters are required.
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $22.08 - $25.96 per hour (2011 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
