||Reporting to the Deputy Director of Corporate Services, you will assume a key management role and be responsible for the efficient operation and management of the human resources division. Your responsibilities will include advising management about collective agreement requirements, policies and procedures; helping managers and supervisors with their day-to-day human resource needs; leading recruitment teams and providing expert support in the selection process by reviewing and preparing selection materials; supervising support staff; managing absenteeism; and ensuring the proper maintenance of all human resource records.
||• A minimum of a four-year degree in human resources, business administration or a related field and a CHRP designation
||• Experience working in a unionized environment and demonstrated understanding of the law in collective agreement administration and labour relations
• Expert level of knowledge in recruitment processes and labour and employee relations as well as legislation applicable to human resources such as the Human Rights Code, Workers’ Compensation Act, etc.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience including supervision of staff
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively with exempt managers at all levels, all levels of other staff and the public
• Very comfortable with the use of technology; must be proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and be capable of learning other programs as needed
