Preference will be given to candidates who possess a Wastewater Treatment Level I Certification per the Environmental Operators Certification Program. Several years of experience in welding, pipe fitting, plumbing or millwright work would also be advantageous. Duties: Reporting to the Foreman III – Wastewater Treatment Plant, you will assist management to achieve an efficient operation in the sewage treatment function of the Public Works Department through reliable performance of operation, maintenance and inspection of a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, blowers, gear drives and conveyor belt systems and other relatd process equipment. You will be familiar with and observe and comply with municipal policies and recognized WCB safety practices. - Sound knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures used in treatment plant operations; - Able to understand the principles of the functions and operation and to apply the techniques of tending and maintaining sewage processing and sludge disposal equipment; - Able to work in wet or humid conditions while subject to odours, fumes and gases; - Good knowledge in mechanical maintenance repair and preventive maintenance programs; - Able to work independently and to prodiuce work af a high standard.
