| Job Description: |
Working in the Traffic Operations section this intermediate technical and administrative position focusing on traffic signals timing; providing support and assistance to senior staff in administrative responsibilities; and performing moderately complex technical work related to the completion of a variety of City engineering activities and projects.
Responsibilities include: preparing designs, detail drawings, specifications and project estimates; assist in preparation, development, review and implementation of capital work and maintenance programs; collects, analyses data and performs computer modeling (Sychro/Sim Traffic); provide direction to construction and maintenance personnel and respond to enquiries from staff, contractors, consultants and the public.

| Educational Requirements: |
The successful completion of a one-year certificate in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevent to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution with three years of engineering experience with a demonstrated record of technical knowledge, skills and ability or an equivalent combination of related training and experience;
OR
The completion of a two year diploma in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevant to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution with exposure to relevant engineering work.
Experience with Synchro/Sim Traffic software and traffic signals timing are considered assets. Applicants must possess a valid BC Driver's License and a safe driving record. |
