Our Engineering and Operations Department requires a qualified individual to perform advanced technical, educational, field and inspection work implementing and coordinating environmental quality control reviews of projects within the municipality involving storm water management, air quality, tree management and waterfront protection. The incumbent would also provide assistance in the development of measurable goals and objectives to support the municipality’s environmental strategic plan and provide environmental information to the public. Under the supervision of the Manager of Environmental Services, the Engineering Technologist meets with interested environmental groups, prepares reports and drafts regulations relative to environmental studies and legislation, and acts as a liaison with internal and external contacts including senior government agencies. The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement. The 2011 rate for this full-time temporary position is $2,381.86- $2,720.24 biweekly.
