This is an intermediate technical and administrative position providing support and assistance to senior staff in administrative responsibilities, and performing moderately complex technical work related to the completion of a variety of City engineering activities and projects specifically related to pumps and control support systems for water, sewer and drainage. In this role, you will perform administrative duties in project management, scheduling, planning, reporting, coordination, monitoring and cost control. You will assist in the preparation, development, review and implementation of capital work and maintenance programs and in the selection and management of consultants. This role may also include reviewing designs and contracts prepared by consultants and preparing designs, detail drawings, specifications and project estimates. In addition you will provide direction to construction and maintenance personnel and respond to inquiries from staff, contractors, and consultants. Completion of a one-year certificate in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevant to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution with 3 years engineering experience with a demonstrated record of technical knowledge, skills and ability or an equivalent combination of related training and experience. OR Completion of a two year diploma in a discipline of Engineering Technology relevant to the position from a recognized post-secondary institution with exposure to relevant engineering work. You must have a valid BC Drivers License and a safe driving record.
