| Job Description: |
Reporting directly to the Manager, By-Law and Licensing Services, and as an integral part of the management team, your primary responsibilities and focus will be in the areas of administration, supervision and enforcement of by-laws and regulations for the City of Surrey and its Animal Resource Centre. You will provide advice and direction in relation to the planning, direction and administration of the division as well as the supervision of the Animal Control personnel. You will play a major part in fostering a team atmosphere and will be accustomed to carrying a substantial workload in a results-oriented environment.

| Duties: |
As the Manager, Animal Care & Control you will be responsible for establishing related programs and policies, preparation of budgets, benefit analysis and developing base case analysis for new programs. You will respond to public inquiries, highly sensitive complaints and will prepare information and charges to assist the Legal Services Department. You will ensure compliance of by-laws and regulations and conduct research pertinent to new licensing and regulatory services initiatives.

| Educational Requirements: |
The ideal candidate will be an effective and service orientated leader, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as other related organizations and community groups. Excellent communication, public relations and collaboration skills are essential.

| Skill Requirements: |
You will have completed courses related to animal care and have a minimum of 5 ??? 7 years of directly related experience dealing with animals in an enforcement or investigative context. You have substantial management experience, and experience in a municipal government environment would be considered an asset. Your education and experience will also be supplemented by in the areas of accounting, computing and collection of funds.
This position requires the completion of a RCMP Security Clearance.
