Winter and Spring 2013 The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department are currently seeking a versatile, creative and energetic individual to deliver a high quality wheelchair tennis program for the City of Surrey. If you are interested in being part of our citywide Tennis Instructor team and have the necessary experience and training we encourage you to apply on-line. Duties: You will be responsible for teaching children, youth, and young adults the fundamentals of wheelchair tennis through game play, movement and skill building activities. Along with a great serve, patience, and a passion for the game, you must have strong leadership, organizational, communication and customer service skills. Educational Requirements: The successful candidate must be enthusiastic and have previous experience in planning and delivering tennis lessons; must be either a certified Tennis Canada Instructor, certified Tennis BC Instructor and/or completed the Wheelchair Tennis Instructor Workshop, as well as hold a valid Emergency First Aid with CPR Certificate. Skill Requirements: Experience in working with persons with disabilities is a valuable asset. This part time position requires flexibility, as lessons will run at different times throughout the year.
