The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Environmental Coordinator I to join our team of professionals in the Community Development Division, Development Engineering Department.
Reporting to the Manager, Development Engineering you will be responsible in this unionized position for administration and implementation of the Erosion & Sediment Control Bylaw, performing realted drawing reviews of municipal development projects involving such matters aserosion and sediment control measures and stream and habitat protection , permitting, monitoring and enforcement; related thereto; as well as receiving and investigating complaints of environmental degradation and responding to the development community and public as necessary.

A Bachelors Degree related to the work such as a Bachelor's of Science in Natural History or Environmental Engineering or graduation for an Institute of Technology with 2-3 years??? work and field experience in fisheries, environmental monitoring and public education. .Considerable knowledge of the methods, procedures, equipment and instruments used in environmental quality control programs related to erosion and sediment control, , and of the trends and developments related thereto; as well as considerable knowledge of the policies, regulations, standards, by-laws and objectives governing the work performed is necessary. A valid Class 5 (Full-privilege) BC driver???s license is required.
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $33.14 - $39.11 per hour (2011 rates), plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:30am ??? 4:30pm.
