The Township of Langley is regularly seeking applicants to augment auxiliary positions for Pool Service Workers to join our team of professionals in the Recreation Culture, and Parks Division.
These auxiliary positions??? will work in our W.C. Blair Recreation Centre and the Walnut Grove Community Centre. The successful applicants will perform janitorial and custodial tasks ensuring that the pool facilities are maintained at an established level of cleanliness and sanitation as well as inspect, repair, maintain, and operate a variety of swimming pool equipment such as pumps, valves, chlorinators, heating units, boilers, filters, chlorine tanks, pipes, meters and motors. The successful applicants must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Required training and experience must include current Emergency First Aid, current CPR certificate, a Pool Operator???s Certificate Levels I and II, and a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver???s License as well as completion of grade 12 (or equivalent) combined with some related experience.
The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $22.08 - $25.96 per hour (2011 rates), plus 12% in lieu of benefits. The hours of work are non-standard hours and/or non-standard work weeks.
These positions are defined by the Township of Langley as positions of trust (Child Safety) and require a criminal record check.
