Job Description: The Fraser Valley Regional District is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the Full-Time Union position of Bylaw, Permits and Licences Technician. Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Planning and Development, the incumbent will work as part of a team responsible for permits, licences and bylaw enforcement throughout the Fraser Valley Regional District. The scope of work for this position includes processing building permits, reviewing permit and licence applications for compliance, and investigating and resolving bylaw complaints.
Educational Requirements: ??? Have a degree in planning, geography, or a related discipline, or an acceptable combination of post-secondary training and experience in provincial or local government.
??? Must have completed, or be willing to complete the Bylaw and Investigative Skills course (Level 1) as offered by the Justice Institute of B.C.
Skill Requirements: ??? Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including skills in conflict resolution with the ability to deal diplomatically with the public.
??? Must be in possession of a valid Driver???s Licence for the type of Fraser Valley Regional District vehicle being driven.
Salary: The wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $27.88 to $32.80 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
