Under the direction of the Manager of Environmental Services, the incumbent will be working as part of a team responsible for service delivery of environmental programs throughout the Region, including solid waste management planning, noxious weeds control, mosquito control, and air quality. Educational Requirements: ??? A degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering with a good understanding of and experience working with environmental issues relating to air quality, solid waste, noxious weeds, and mosquito or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skill Requirements: ??? Experience in local government service delivery and municipal waste management practices is preferred, and knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures pertaining to Regional Districts would be an asset. ??? Experience in public promotion, and managing projects, conducting research and feasibility studies is required. ??? Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly, and converse with a wide range of people including technical consultants, elected officials, staff, and the general public. ??? Excellent writing skills, with the ability to write in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare well written technical and administrative reports. ??? Must be in possession of a valid Driver???s Licence for the type of Fraser Valley Regional District vehicle being driven. Salary: The wage rate for this bargaining unit position is $30.67 - $36.08 per hour plus a comprehensive benefit package and pension plan.
