This position requires shift work (Weekends 10:30pm ??? 6:30am). It is ideal for applicants who have demonstrated initiative and independence. Duties: You will be responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks and minor repairs in and around the facilities. Duties may include building maintenance, security, assigned janitorial work, and regular inspection of facilities for Risk Management issues by reporting or correcting. Other job related duties include: maintaining a clean and safe facility, ongoing monitoring of pools for chemical balancing, temperatures and mechanical issues, pool vacuuming, chemical additions to pools, shift checks , backwashing procedures, ordering/inventory of cleaning supplies, locker repair, reporting of malfunctioning equipment, salting, shovelling and maintaining outside area of building. The successful applicant will be expected to lift heavy objects such as chemical bags and certain equipment in the weight room when cleaning. Educational Requirements: The successful candidate will have completed grade 12 and one year experience doing cleaning and minor repairs in a large public facility. A BSW Certificate from a recognized training institution, Pool Operator???s Level 1 Certificate and a valid BC driver???s license with a safe driving record. Successful completion of a criminal record check will be required.
