Job Description: The City of White Rock is a unique, ocean-side community of 20,000 citizens known for its sunny weather, expansive beach, historic pier, delightful restaurants, and sense of community. The City is located half an hour south of Vancouver on the shore of Semiahmoo Bay.
Duties: The position of Health and Safety Advisor is an integral part of the Human Resources Department. Reporting to the Director, you are responsible for facilitating the development, implementation and continuous enhancement of the City???s health and safety and disability management programs. Responsibilities include:

???Providing direction and support to all levels of management, unions and employees on issues related to employee health and safety, disability, duty to accommodate, rehabilitation and return to work;
???Conducting risk assessment and developing safety programs and safe operating procedures and implementing comprehensive employee health and safety training programs;
???Administering the WSBC claims management process and coordinating the City???s return-to-work program;
???Resolving health and safety issues and promoting a positive, healthy and safe workplace;
???Conducting regular safety audits and providing assistance and advice on safety inspections and incident investigations;
???Preparing, coordinating, analyzing and presenting safety and leave statistical reports.
Educational Requirements: Your qualifications include a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, supplemented with a minimum 3 to 5 years??? experience working in a similar role. Ideally, you have past experience in municipal government or public sector environments and bring a CRSP designation. In addition, you must have a valid BC driver???s license.
Skill Requirements: The ideal candidate for this position brings high energy and passion for promoting a healthy and safe work environment. You are a self-starter, highly organized, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to exercise diplomacy, tact and professionalism. Advanced computer skills working with the Microsoft suite are essential.
