The City of Surrey???s Environmental Programs team is located at the Surrey Nature Centre at Green Timbers. With the goal of increasing awareness and appreciation of nature and the environment, the team offers a wide range of educational materials, programs and events throughout the City of Surrey.
Other requirements include a valid BC Driver???s License with a safe driving history, Occupational First Aid Level One Certificate or acceptable equivalent, use of a personal vehicle, and successful completion of a criminal record check.

| Duties: |
In collaboration with a supervisor, the Environmental Education Programmer will create, plan, implement and promote educational materials (e.g. interpretive signage and informational brochures), public programs and special events. He or she will supervise junior staff and volunteers, and will collaborate with community partners. |

| Educational Requirements: |
Essential qualities for success in this position include strong communication (written and verbal), organizational and leadership skills. Creativity, a passion for nature and the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment are also vital. |

| Skill Requirements: |
The successful applicant must have completed Grade 12, supplemented by a diploma or degree in education, environmental studies or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution, plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience, or an equivalent acceptable combination of education and experience |
|
| Salary: |
The hours and days of work will vary, and will be scheduled to address the priorities and operational needs of events and programs. Regular weekend work and some evenings will be expected. |
