As the Director of Fire and Rescue Services (Fire Chief), you will lead our highly motivated and dedicated team in providing fire prevention and education, fire suppression and inspection, and emergency services, in our growing community. We are looking for an individual who first and foremost is an astute manager. You understand broader local government objectives and issues, are proactive and forward thinking, and have excellent interpersonal skills. A distinguished customer service record and the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external customers, including Council, are essential for this position, as is the ability to lead a team of paid-on-call and career members. Your post-secondary education in business or public administration, or a related field, together with your advanced fire technology training (preferably at the Chief Fire Officer level) and your progressive and innovative management history and experience, as well as your ability to think broadly, makes you an ideal candidate.
