Facility Maintenance Worker II | Auxiliary/On-call
This is technical, building service, custodial and maintenance work performing duties that vary according to the season and to recreation facility activities and requirements.
The incumbent is responsible for the pool maintenance and water chemistry; to install and maintain ice; operate related equipment; perform minor maintenance and repair of machines, pumps and filters; perform minor construction, renovation and maintenance of recreation buildings; ensure building security, and perform janitorial and custodial functions for the ice arena, swimming pool, public and multi-purpose areas.
As the successful candidate you have:
??? Completion of Grade 12;
??? Completion of basic carpentry courses;
??? 2 years of experience in building maintenance and the operation and maintenance of ice-making equipment, refrigeration and pool filtration systems;
??? Class Five Power Engineer Ticket in Refrigeration;
??? Level 1 and 2 Pool Operators Certificate;
??? Valid B.C. Driver's License;
Auxiliary employees are employed on an intermittent or temporary basis for the purpose of relief, replacement or increased activities. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work at several of the City???s recreation facilities (Matsqui Recreation Centre, Abbotsford Recreation Centre, MSA Arena). Shifts will vary and include evening and weekend hours.
The hourly rate of pay for this union position is from $23.58 to $27.74 (2011 rates), plus an additional 12% of vacation and benefits.
