The City of Abbotsford’s Information Technology Department is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated individual with proven skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment to join our team. Reporting to the IT Applications Manager, this position will work alongside our IT Systems and Support teams at City Hall.
The Applications Analyst role is responsible for determining technology requirements for business processes and user requests, and analyzing and implementing solutions that will support and improve their efficiency and effectiveness. The Application Analyst develops or modifies business applications as required to suit business requirements, maintains related documentation and provides user support of applications. The scope of work may cover any aspect of information technology utilized by the City.
As the successful candidate you will have considerable knowledge of information technology, system design methodology and programming techniques. You will also have a good understanding of relational databases and SQL. Working experience in the following software products and platforms is also considered an asset:
• Open Text EDRMS
• MSSQL and Oracle
• SSIS and SSRS
• Web Development
The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; along with good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadline are essential to be successful in this role.
As our ideal candidate you will have:
• A two-year diploma in Computer Science or equivalent diploma from a recognized educational institution;
• Three years’ experience working with programming, systems design and application support.
This position is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $38.24 to $44.96.
