||If you are a confident and professional Engineer interested in leading a dynamic Engineering team as the Manager of Transportation and Drainage then this opportunity is for you. In this Exempt Management position you will report to the Director of Engineering and oversee a team of experienced professionals.
||The ideal candidate should have a degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis on transportation, and the ability to obtain registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC and five years of progressive management experience within a related field.
||You are a strong, decisive leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with elected officials, the public, external agencies and all levels of staff. You have knowledge of civil engineering principles, administrative practices and techniques as applied to municipal engineering. You have a background in design of roadworks, stormwater management, drainage studies and drainage master plans. Experience in traffic modelling, contract administration and in managing consultants will be an asset. You will prepare and manage annual Engineering Department and Capital Plan budgets. You are able to decisively approve expenditure of funds for roads and drainage projects as approved in the municipal capital works budgets in accordance with Council resolutions and policy directives.
